Shifting Baselines (finished)

"Ow. What. The. Crap!"

Dark Link had been thrown across the square and slammed into the wall. He had just been standing there, trying to figure out where he was, when he was attacked, from behind, for no reason. Whoever it was was really pissing him off. It's like they were trying to step on his lines!

He drew his sword as he turned around. He had no idea what the strange new creatures were, but there was no way he was going to their birthday parties now!

Now, their deathday celebration, he be the first in line.

A flurry of darkness, and for just a moment, space-time bent. A dark portal appeared on a rooftop. Out stepped a cloaked and hooded figure. A small chuckle sounded, as the figure watched the dark human in the courtyard below. I wonder... Would he be a good addition to my army? the figure thought. He snapped his fingers, and summoned more heartless. A test was in order...

Dark waved his sword around aimlessly and shouted at one of the Large bodies, presumably the one who hit him. "You! Fat Man! I'm going to rock you like a Little Boy!"

He then lunged forward, sword extended, and hit the Large body point first in the stomach.

If the Large could have laughed it would have, as the sword bounced off of its big belly. It then took a swipe at the litte man, trying to knock him on the ground. Meanwhile, the Neoshadows and Soldiers, displying their pack hunting tendencies, fanned out around Dark Link, ready to take advantage of any opening. The Second Large Body then decided to charge Dark Link.

Well, this was embarrassing. What kind of thing bounces a sword off?
Off balance in more than one way, Dark Link got slapped to the ground. Right in the face, too.

"OH. NO. YOU DIDN'T!" Dark Link's eyes started to glow red, and his hue deepened to a mottled grey. He got up and held his shield off to the side almost absent-mindedly to block the charging charlie, and advanced. "NO ONE B*TCHSLAPS ME AND LIVES!exceptprincesszelda YOU DIE HERE AND NOW!" He grabbed a bomb with the other hand, and jumped towards the head of the first fatty, with the intent to make him eat it. Literally.

The Large body cocked its head, and took another swipe at Dark Link, figuring if it worked once it would work twice. The other Large Body, having bounced off of Dark Link's shield, bowls throught the Soldiers, and destroys them. It then immediately runs into a wall, and sits down hard, stunned. The Neoshadows hiss, and leap at Dark Link just as he jumps.

Dark Link saw the swipe coming, and, unlit bomb dropped and forgotten, jumped on and rode the hand around to the backside of Tubbyblin.

"To do: Kill you. Don't take it personally. That's my job." Dark slashed his sword towards the back of it's head, ready to send it on to the hereafter. Or at least wound it. Who knows how tough these things were. I mean, what if this was a boss fight, right, so I'd have to hit it at least three times and I don't see anything glowing yet plus therewasnodungeonsoIhavenotoolforthissowhatifthisdoesnotworkIdon'twanttobounceagain! Either way, he attacked it. With his sword.

The Large Body's head toppled off, and the entire thing vanished into darkness. The other shook it's head, got over its confusion, and got pissed and its friends death. It charged again, this time channeling its power into its stomach, the Neoshadows dodging actively to avoid the same fate inflicted on their Soldier underlings. The Dark Overlord chuckled queitly. He was glad that he had increased the Neoshadows intelligence. They were much more powerful now.

Not expecting that, Dark fell to the floor off of the dissipating hand. Looking at the constant night sky, he said, "huh. I guess you are bad guys. The smoke confirms it. I didn't know for a while. Sometimes good guys att- Hey!" The large body slammed into Dark. Well, tripped over Dark. Dark panicked and popped into the dark realm touching the heartless.

Huh.

This was not the dark realm he knew. This was much more... cylindrical.

((Dark Link's warp to the dark realm got corrupted(?) by the heartless and he is now in the pathways of darkness. If you don't approve of this, let me know and I can edit it. I just thought this would be a convenient way for Dark to be able to travel between worlds.))

The Overlord snapped his fingers, and pulled the strange person from the Dark Corridor. He then teleported to Dark Link's side.
"Hello, you dark sentient. You appear to be lost. This isn't your world. Why are you here?" The Dark Overlord began probing the evil Hylean's mind, trying to read his memories without detection.

Dark had been just starting to stand up to explore this new place, when he was violently wrenched from it, back into the world of light. As such, he fell over. Into the new arrival.

With a "Pthea," he spat out the corner of the cloak, completely missed most of what the man had said. " I don't know, I was trying to explore somewhere. Now, if you'll excuse me..."

Wondering if he could get back there, he went over how it felt. It was a jump sideways like normal, but more upside down, and with a hint of widdershins, I think... And with that, he stepped back into the pathways.

The Dark Overlord growled, and wrenched space timethree feet to the left, entering the same Dark Corridor as Dark Link. He then grabbed DL by the throat. "Perhaps you do not recognize me for what I am, you pitiful wretch. I am your Lord and Master, and you WILL answer me. Understood?"

What did this guy have against exploration? Seriously, here was something new, and he was trying to take all the fun out of it.

"Generally, asking nicely gets a better answer than attacking. Here, I'll show you an example. You attacked me, so I say ''" And with that, he swung a kick aimed right at the mysterious cloaked nards.

The kick passed right through the Overlord's body. "Let me show you how things work around here, you insolent child. When I ask you a question," the Overlord said as he lifted Dark Link higher, and squeezed tighter, "you answer. Now, tell me who you are or you will die." The Overlord threw D. Link to the ground as the structure of the Dark Corridor began to decay.

Standing up, Dark said "What is your problem? I mean, you're throwing a tempertantrum worse than most three year olds, and you are calling me a child? Seriously, if you want to know someone, as them to dinner or something, don't just be a poo-head."

"Now, please, leave me alone. I don't like you. I don't like what you are doing to me. I am using my words. I even said please. Go. Away."

"Fool. You wish to be left alone? Shall I drop you into the Dark Realm, and let you wander alone for all eternity?" The Dark Overlord was having quite enough of this little snot, and the corridor collapsed rather, with glimpses of the Dark Realmshowing through rips in the fabric of the corridor.

"No thanks. Just stay there for a second. I'll come back and explore more later, when you're done."

Dark Link went back into the real world, and walked towards the first district door, the place where no heartless could get in, no matter how strong it was.

The Overlord quickly warped back to the square, and teleported to the top of the Gizmo Shop. He smashed the wood covering the bell, then smacked it hard. It rang, and suddenly, a huge hexshield encompassed the area, blocking off all escape. "So, you annoying little rat! You have angered me, and that just wasn't smart! Face the wrath of the Heartless!" A huge armored foot fell from the sky, followed by another, then two hands, and a large cylindrical body. The parts floated into the air, and quickly assembled. Then an armored head fell down, and landed on the body. The Guard Armor finished assembling, and stood tall.

"I want a bell that summons a giant Dark Nut!" Dark Link drew his sword and jumped towards the head of the Armor, shield ready to block the giant sword that all Dark Nuts have.
