The Mushroom Kingdom was calm. Princess Peach was doing her typical ruling thing from the castle, the Toads were content; life, in general, was good.
Which is why today, Mario was at his home, not too far outside of Toad Town - he tended to prefer living on the outskirts of society, due to his celebrity status. The plumber was just lying in a recliner, reading the paper.
Well, it's more like he was snoring with the paper covering his face, but he was reading the paper at one point, before he fell asleep.
