Power(s): Dark Realm - Dark Link can switch to the dark realm (and back) without a proper portal of darkness. Dark Link can apply this ability to other people with physical contact and concentration. When in the dark realm, people still show up in the light realm, but only as their flat shadows.
Link’s Shadow - When against Link, Dark Link can sense Link’s movements before he makes them, and can turn away almost any blow. He also possesses Link’s athletic abilities.
Shadow - Being not entirely in this side of the world at the best of times, Dark Link can walk through empty air and does not need to breathe. He is also quicker than most due to having less mass.
Weapon(s): Dark Link wields the twisted Dark Master Sword. This is an exact physical copy of the Master Sword, but darker in color. The blade is darkened steel and the hilt is black. While Link’s blade glows with holy power, Dark Link’s seems to draw in the light, leaving a aura of darkness surrounding it.
He also has a bomb bag, and a Flame Rod.
While not a weapon per say, Dark Link also has the Dark Hyrule Shield. It’s just a recolor of the normal Hyrule Shield.

Appearance: Dark Link is a lean Dark Hylian. A little bit on the tall side, Dark holds himself in a way that makes people run very far away. Well, either that or the glowy eyes. His skin is mottled grey, and his eyes are dull red, but when he gets angry, his skin darkens to soot black, and you could read by his light up eyes. He has a typical tunic, the same sort of thing that Link wears but for the color. It’s grey-black instead of forest green. He has a floppy black hat, grey hair, and black boots and leggings. Seeing a theme here yet?
Dark Link wields the twisted Dark Master Sword. This is an exact physical copy of the Master Sword, but darker in color. The blade is darkened steel and the hilt is purple. While Link’s blade glows with holy power, Dark Link’s seems to draw in the light, leaving a aura of darkness surrounding it.
Also, he has a Dark Hyrule Shield, all tarnished silver and blackened steel. It has the Triforce on it, in all it’s golden glory. Beneath that is the Hylian Royal Crest done up in a dark purple.
Personality: Dark Link was born when Link’s impurities were torn from him. So Dark Link is the opposite of Link in a large number of ways. There are a few things that never change, like that both Links love the thrill of battle, but then Dark Link will kill if he has the opportunity. He is a coward, so will protect himself and not risk his life to save anyone. Striking from behind, using “cheap” weapons like his fire rod and bombs, running away into the shadow realm, only to jump out a few seconds later to attack.
He prefers to travel alone, as he tries to kill anyone who tries to travel with him. He spends his free time playing with his fire rod, and that usually ends up with something on fire. He detests Link because he thinks that as long as Link exists, he cannot be real. So if he kills Link, then they will merge back into one, and Dark Link’s personality will be the dominant one.

History/Background: Dark Link was born the moment Link first touched the Master Sword. Because one must be immaculate and pure to wield the Master Sword, the goddess ripped out all of Link’s impurities. The impurities still were part of the hero, so they could not be held by the Goddess, and they were set free into the dark world. There, Dark Link found the Dark Master Sword, and using it’s power, he found his way to the Realm of Light, looking for his lost half.
When he arrived he was a bit confused, seeing as he was standing in a place with nothing around him. So he went looking for his other half, and ended up in Traverse, still wondering what had happened to his world.
Role Playing Sample: Dark Link paused for a second, lost in the woods. He had been traveling across the Dark version of Hyrule, trying to obtain the necessary pendants to wield the Master Sword, and here he was, at the end of the unnecessarily long chain of events. If only he could find his way through this **** FOREST!
Dark had been lost in the forest for a couple of hours, when a mysterious little raccoon decided to pop up and start yelling at him.
“Ah-hahahahahah! How do you like my maze? You’ll never get through this forest if I have anything to say about it.”
Well, that explained a lot. The forest had been rearranging itself. “So, if you don’t have anything to say about it, I will get through?” asked Dark. So, if I kill you, I can get through?
“Uhhhh...”
“That’s what I thought.” Whipping out his fire rod, he launched a ball of flame at the raccoon. The raccoon, being a magical pain in the arse, ducked into the solid ground, so the fire bolt hit the tree behind it.
The resulting explosion gave Dark an idea.
“Well then, problem solved.” The entire forest around Dark was now a layer of ashes. The path to the Master Sword was clear. Of trees. Or anything flammable. As Dark trudged across the wastes, he shouted back, “Have fun building a new maze!”
